Poland predicts 12 percent higher grain harvest in 1981
Washington AP Poland's grain harvest is forecast at about 20 million metric tons, over 12 percent above the two year average. Despite poor fall sowing and fertilizer shortages, the Foreign Agricultural Service says the crop should be larger than last year and the potato crop, a key livestock feed, may rise to about 45 million tons. The agency notes Poland could still need eight to nine million tons of grain imports in 1981 82.
