City Advances Arcade Plan On 700 Block Parking Lot

Lawrence City Commission votes to pursue a benefit district for an arcade at 716 Massachusetts Street near the 700 block with the Lawrence Industrial Development Co. holding an option to buy the former Gable Market site. If funded, the project would reuse the 25 foot frontage, with financing via a parking lot plan and district petitions. The move signals interest but not a guaranteed arcade for the 700 block.
