Francisco wins Democratic primary for Kansas Senate District 2
Statehouse veteran Francisco defeated Rep. Haswood 57 to 42 percent in a rare intra party primary. Francisco highlighted perfect attendance since 2005 and cross aisle work. Other incumbents fared variably as Schmidt beat Miller for Senate District 19 and Gossage won in SD9. Primary results set stage for November general election and turnout was 17.7 percent in Douglas County.
