Judge declines to alter KSHSAA ruling in court case
Sedgwick County District Judge Robert Bell refused to reconsider his decision finding Kansas State High School Activities Assn unconstitutional in how it operates. Lawyers for KSHSAA sought a change after a morning hearing but the judge denied the motion. The association plans to appeal the ruling that it acted under an illegal grant of authority from the Kansas Legislature and state Board of Education. The suit, filed by two Wichita fathers, targets rules for non school sports involving KSHSAA athletes.
