National Floriculture Show Sets Rules For Douglas County Fair
The Floriculture Division guiding rules come from the National Council of State Garden Clubs. Lawrence Flower Club Prairie Acres Garden Club and Green Thumb Garden Club sponsor. Awards include prizes ribbons and special club prizes for tri color and creativity categories. Junior section features three design classes and horticulture classes with Mrs. C. O. Humphrey as 1972 chairman.

Farmland values rise across regions with dry lands leading gains
USDA ERS reports farm real estate per acre rose 8 percent to 217 dollars for the year ending March 1 1972. Georgia shows the largest gain at 72 percent with New Jersey 63 percent and Pennsylvania 57 percent. In Western states dry farming and grazing land posted strong increases while irrigated land held steady.

Wheat export outlook tops 800 million bushels in year
A market report projects wheat exports this marketing year could reach 800 million bushels, the highest since 1965 66 when 867 million were sold abroad. It notes a year end carryover near 812 million bushels, down from larger surpluses at the start of the current season, with 632 million bushels exported in the year ended June 30.
