State Meteorologist Flora reports July 1920 was the coolest and wettest month in seven years across Kansas. Eastern counties saw torrential rains from the 10th to 12th with totals over five inches, up to 13.62 inches in Winfield. western areas were drier but still above normal. Temperatures remained below normal until the last ten days, then surged to 109 at Atwood and 42 at Oakley. Harvests of wheat, oats, and barley progressed, with alfalfa second crop secured and third crop beginning in the south.
