Natural cleanup hope rises from Eagle Harbor pollution
Scientists from the University of Washington report bacteria at Eagle Harbor bottom absorbing creosote PAHs, offering potential natural cleanup as EPA caps polluted sediments and ongoing studies map bacteria types, rates, and effects on the Wyckoff site cleanup. The work spans oceanography microbiology and engineering with 12 faculty, 9 graduate students, and 15 undergraduates across disciplines.
