East Lawrence group again pushes downzoning for 500 lots
East Lawrence Improvement Association members pressed the Lawrence City Commission to downzone about 500 lots in the neighborhood. The plan requires 80 percent owner signatures to start downzoning, potentially on a block by block basis. City and planning officials will discuss thresholds and staff guidance at an August 18 meeting, with commissioners seeking input from area property owners.
