Mr and Mrs Paul S Trittin of Inglewood California will be guests of honor at First Assembly of God Church Lawrence in a Sunday service at 11 am and church dinner at 12 30 pm in the Douglas County State Bank community room They will be hosted by their daughter Rochelle and visit Mrs Trittin s parents in Baldwin before flying to Brussels Belgium later this month where Trittin will work as illustrator and layout editor for International Correspondence Institute items for Assemblies of God schools and students

Mormon Teens Return From Midwest Meeting
Seven Lawrence teenagers returned from the Midwestern Youth Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints held last month at Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville. Participants included Cecily Carter John Hoffman Marci Johnston An nette Welling Gary Smith Maureen Welling and Michelle Sturman with Don Brady and Mrs. Dennis Yaple as chaperones. Carter performed with the Brothers and Sisters musical group of 55 youths from the Kansas City area. The show featured Gospel and rock opera selections and toured the South to Dallas Houston New Orleans Birmingham and Disney World. The Lawrence ward presented a road show for other conference participants with an original script and score.

LDS Church Names New Bishop in Lawrence
Howard Rytting, 3009 Topeka Ave, appointed bishop of the Lawrence LDS ward by church administration. the congregation voted to sustain him. Rytting, KU assistant professor of analytical and pharmaceutical chemistry, replaces J. Laurence Day, KU journalism professor, who is away at a conference. Rytting's counselors will be Frank Aydelotte and John Haslam, assisting in his absence.

Revered preacher marks 100th birthday sermon in Independence
The Rev. Oscar Case returned to the pulpit on his 100th birthday, drawing about 2,500 people to an outdoor service. He spoke in a strong voice from amphitheater benches and blankets while a diesel switch engine rumbled nearby. At age 95 he asked and received permission from the World Conference of the Reorganized Latter Day Saint Church to preach on his centennial anniversary.
