Mayor Bart Littlejohn has not answered Journal World questions on Seiden's board nomination and his departure from the DA's office amid allegations of Kansas attorney conduct violations. A June video shows Seiden mocking Justin Spiehs in a Douglas County courthouse lobby, drawing Spiehs to file ethics complaints against Seiden and DA Valdez. Spiehs’ 2021 and 2022 charges involved child endangerment and disorderly conduct. The CPRB remains in transition with changes approved in May 2024 set for September implementation.
