Spencer Museum of Art to stay closed after water line break
KU officials said the Spencer Museum of Art will remain closed through Monday after a water line break on Mississippi Street flooded the building’s lower two floors. About 15,000 to 20,000 books, roughly 10 percent of the library’s 170,000 volumes, were damaged and are being Freeze-dried at Chicago facilities. 90 volunteers helped box volumes for transport. Separately, a 20-year-old Shawnee man was cited for battery after a fight near The Hawk following an alleged inappropriate advance on two KU students.
