Lawrence teachers and board settle 1991 92 salary impasse
After nine hours of talks and mediation the Lawrence school board and the Lawrence Education Assn reach a tentative 4.3 percent total pay rise for 1991 92. A 1.9 percent longevity and professional development bump plus a 2.4 percent base pay increase would lift starting salary from 18 905 to about 19 340. Final approval hinges on both sides and a vote by teachers.

Reserve band to pay tribute to the troops
