Washington reports President Wilson will pursue a policy of selective word interference in European affairs. Gwin was taken to the State Hospital at Osawatomie after the sheriff returned from Hutchinson. The return trip followed a probate court ruling that young Gwin was insane, made a short time earlier.
Bald win farmer Chas Weinegat of Baldwin Kansas is in Lawrence today to conduct agricultural business and meet local officials.
The PFirst Christian church will host its annual picnic on Thursday August 20 inviting the church, congregation, friends and neighbors and the Bible School. Dr Albert Crizan chairs the arrangements committee and all members are urged to keep the date open for this community event.
City engineers Dinmire and Cleland prepare four inch centrifugal pump tests to evaluate water supply and soil gravel. Casings will be used as wells are dug to prevent caving. a big meter will measure output while tests determine if North Fadler soil yields ample water. A report will be presented to commissioners after initial tests.
Telegraphic reports will be received until midnight with updates posted as fast as received. Mrs R Filks and children of Edwardsville Kansas will visit Mrs Pilkins mother Mrs M E Murphy from Wednesday through the end of the week.
