Kansas July revenue falls short by 3.7 million
Kansas state tax collections for July were $3.7 million below expectations, tied to weak consumer spending. The Department of Revenue reported $417.6 million in taxes as Gov Brownback's administration unveiled $63 million in budget changes aimed at reducing a deficit and supporting a $1 billion bond sale to bolster the public pension system. Moody's called the debt outlook stable.
