The Civil Aeronautics Board ruled the May 22 Continental Airlines crash that killed 45 near Unionville Missouri was caused by a dynamite device placed in the lavatory waste bin. The attack appears connected to a dynamite plot. FBI still investigated. Victims included Thomas G Doty and Geneva Greenwood Fraley. The Boeing 707 diverted around storms but exploded in clear skies. weather ruled out as a factor. The evidence showed explosive damage and detonations inside the cabin.

U S Ambassador to Cameroun Leland Barrows and his wife visited Lawrence and Kansas University. They arrived Tuesday noon and stayed with Mrs Paul Lawson. A noon luncheon was held in their honor at the Kansas Union. The ambassador toured KU and more social events were planned. Barrows is KU graduate with degrees in 1928 1932.
