Mexico will admit nationals from any country who show wholesome citizenship and will not disturb the nation. Carranza told an Associated Press correspondent that Mexico seeks cordial relations with the United States and will maintain an open door policy while respecting its laws on immigration and oil. He noted US oil interests distort facts and said new oil legislation is in Congress. He declined to forecast Congress action and emphasized continued good relations with the United States.

In Olathe on Aug 1 Mrs Blanche Brown of Kansas City was arraigned on first degree murder charges in the fatal shooting of Kansas City garage owner Herbert G Woodruff. Emmett Thomas and Mrs Margaret Love, accused as accessories after the fact, were also arraigned and each held on 5000 bond.
