McGinness won the 2000 Professional Wellspring Award for her work as a Lawrence general surgeon, while Wallace received the 2000 Volunteer Wellspring Award for her four years with the American Cancer Society and leadership of Relay for Life efforts. The event, part of the Betsy Beisecker Memorial Tea, honored Beisecker for her psycho social breast cancer research.
