Gladewater Texas April 29 AP seven men were killed last night at the Sinclair No 1 Cole well four miles southeast of town as a roaring blaze consumed the derrick and surrounding rig. Two other workers were hospitalized near death in Longview. Firefighters and crews rushed to the scene as the inferno burned through the night, with rescuers recounting acts of heroism and a cautious effort to quench or contain the blaze that may burn for days.
