Downtown building eyed for weddings and tax rebates
The ownership group seeks a 15 year property tax rebate on new taxes from planned improvements to the Egyptian Revival building. In year one 95 percent of new taxes would be rebated, falling 5 percent annually to end after year 15. Proposals include funding for a sprinkler system and ADA upgrades while preserving the facade. Maceli hopes a wedding destination approach could fill the space and allow lower lease rates to attract event business.
