Theology lectures push faith to protect planet
The University of Kansas Ecumenical Campus Ministries hosts a two scholar year of religion series in Lawrence. Thad Holcombe says faith communities must lead on environmental care, forming local eco teams and a unified church voice. Rasmussen of Union Theological Seminary urges a new moral universe centering soil air energy and water. He notes climate events reveal the need for local food, renewable energy, and global cooperation.

Advocates push to protect long term care in KanCare
Advocates launched a Dear Governor campaign urging Gov. Brownback to exclude long term care services for people with developmental disabilities from KanCare. They warn the transition to the Medicaid system could reduce services, calling the plan an experiment for tens of thousands of vulnerable Kansans.
