Lawmakers clash as school funding vote looms
Kansas lawmakers return for the wrap up as Sen Karin Brownlee notes a lunch dispute over school finance. The three year 466 million boost for public schools would give Lawrence district 2.8 million next year. Justice Nuss recused himself after a March lunch with Morris and Brungardt. Morris released a memo detailing the five minute discussion. He urged moving on to funding and tax cuts while critics questioned the account. Senate aides and others urged focus on school funding amid probes and political jockeying.
