Lawrence investor to buy vacant fertilizer plant for hydrogen plan
Lawrence investor Roger Billings aims to purchase the 467 acre former Farmland fertilizer site on Kansas Highway 10. He plans hydrogen fuel cell manufacturing and some fertilizer production, creating up to 100 jobs initially, potentially 700 to 800 by decade's end, pending bankruptcy court approval and environmental clearances. Industry figures praise his hydrogen expertise while noting past legal battles over networking patents and questions about his background.
