Tornadoes kill 23 in state Andover area
Tornadoes ripped through southeast and south central Kansas killing at least 23 people and damaging more than 500 buildings including McConnell Air Force Base. Nine tows across the state left Andover hardest hit with Golden Spur Mobile Home Park leveled. Kansas lawmakers evacuated the Capitol as tornadoes struck Topeka.

Boy to Get Settlement in Grandparents Shooting Case
A six year old Lawrence boy, Ronnie Burris, will receive a total settlement of 102350 from his grandparents Delbert and Carolyn French after a 1990 accidental shooting by his brother. He will be paid 850 a month for five years starting on his 18th birthday and lump sums of 20500 and 30850 at ages 25 and 30 respectively.
