How tall can trees grow according to redwood study
The Baltimore Sun reports US scientists hauled sensitive instruments to the tops of 2000 year old California redwoods to test how water moves to the canopy. The study suggests redwoods and perhaps all trees stop growing around 425 feet due to their plumbing limits. Researchers led by George Koch climbed five of the world’s eight tallest trees including the Stratosphere Giant in Humboldt Redwoods State Park.

Lawrence's tallest trees raise mystery of height estimates
Lawrence officials estimate white ash in residential areas south of the Kansas University campus may reach 70 to 75 feet with pin oaks at least 60 feet tall. Scientists note height limits relate to water transport to the treetop, while wind and soil also influence growth.
