Journal-World 1925: Lawrence hotel project and world events
The April 25 1925 Journal World notes subscription details and prices, urges readers to report late deliveries, and reflects on postwar economics. It discusses the Chamber of Commerce hotel project near completion, the European situation with communism, and the pound sterling’s decline versus the dollar, concluding with optimism about Lawrence’s prewar exchange standing.
Washington traffic woes threaten its capital identity
The article notes Washington faces growing motor vehicle traffic despite its planned greenery. Streets may widen by narrowing sidewalks, risking loss of trees and even elm avenues to accommodate double deck buses, threatening the city's unique historic atmosphere. It also mentions regional courts and a violent past in Morton county.

Building Hotels in Florida Letters to the Editor
The Journal World prints a St. Petersburg reader letter predicting rapid hotel growth in Eld ridge and noting a January 15 ground breaking for a 350 room hotel with heated pool, ballroom, garage, yacht basin and more. The project, costing about 3 500 000, will convert four acres of dredged Tamipa Bay sand into land eight feet above tide, with a fireproof hotel to open this October and a tropical garden surrounding an old manor house to be removed. The author, Theodore Gardner, notes seaport yacht owners and Florida’s hotel boom.

Jaipur Visited. Gems And Street Life Describe Rajputana City
A letter from Mrs W. E. Tenney from Jaipur, India, paints the capital of Rajputana with its straight avenues, pink-hued Hindu Mohammedan architecture, and bustling street trades. She notes Maharaja’s palace, seven automobiles, and the daily life from elephants and palanquins to veiled women, street vendors, and public letter writers, while contrasting cleanliness with common filth and the scent of burning cow dung that pervades the city.
