County jail backup plan outlined if tax fails
Douglas County Commission Chair Nancy Thellman outlined a what if option at a Sunday forum on the sales tax referendum. The plan would affect funding for a jail expansion and behavioral health campus if voters reject the half cent tax. The forum at Lawrence City Hall drew about 20 attendees two days before 63,000 mail ballots go out.
