Greensburg plants 61 trees with help from gift
Volunteers plant 61 crabapple trees around the Big Well Museum as Greensburg continues its regreening. The 20,000 gift from the U S Chamber Business Civic Leadership Center and Siemens USA funds the tree program started after the 2007 tornado. Community leaders, Landscape Inc. of Wichita, and Kiowa County Extension Agent Tim McDonnell collaborate on reforestation plus a broader grant to the U S Forestry Service for 300,000 to expand trees and supplies.
