Archie San Romani former Fim poria Teachers college star won the feature mile at the sixteenth Kansas Relays in 4 minutes 23 seconds beating Glenn Cunningham by inches. Don Lash finished third and Gene Venzke fourth. The race drew about 10 000 spectators on a cool day with a brief shower.
