The Kroger Co sells its Kwik Shop convenience stores to EG Group for 1.7 billion after taxes. Governor signs bill barring guns from domestic abusers

Suspect in Holton case arrested in Lawrence
Michael W. Hooks, 41, a Lawrence resident, was arrested at the Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center on counts of rape, sodomy, aggravated kidnapping and burglary from a Jackson County case. Bond set at 75000 dollars. Hooks allegedly committed the Holton crime on April 12 related to a door to door vacuum salesman suspect.

Kansas officer charged with fondling students at school
Wyandotte County DA Mark Dupree says 57 year old Michael Eugene English Sr. faces three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child after a parent reported incidents in March. Victims aged 14 to 16. English worked as a security guard before joining the school police in 2015 and has been on administrative leave since March 22. Investigators are assessing if the crimes occurred on school property.
