KU junior Andrea Bulat from Windsor Ontario wins the two hour Kansas Relays women's javelin event with an NCAA qualifying 154 feet. Bulat defeats Canadian rival Dominique Bolideau, who places second at 1523. Bolideau and coach arrive from Canada to watch, then plan celebration. Bulat seeks Big 12 outdoor title and defends home pride with parents watching.

Marysville star Wecker sets javelin record in Relays
Marysville sophomore Kendra Wecker won the javelin with a Relays record of 166 feet 7 inches, beating the old mark of 156-4. She aims for 180 by year’s end after future Kansas State track and basketball plans and a prior PB of 174-4 this season. Court ney Edmonds took third in the 800 for McLouth while Mindy DeGroot and Dominique Burgin earned medals for Mill Valley.

Free State medley relays shine at Kansas Relays
Free State High and Manhattan boys and girls shined in relay events at the Kansas Relays in Wichita. Jackie Dubois anchored the girls distance medley to a 13:21.10 finish as Jenks won in 12:29.29 and Manhattan followed in 13:22.22. Dubois later placed 19th in the 3200. The Firebirds added strong legs from Joyia Chadwick Rychel Johnson and Mallory Richardson. Free State boys medley, with Justin White Adrian Ludwig Nick Ens and Tyler Pearce, finished fourth at 10:50.32. Birdsong debuted for Lawrence High at 6-2, tying for 10th, while Emily Schwartz cleared 5-1 in high jump after a quadriceps issue. Owen Cox ran 50.49 in the 400, Dylan McClain placed sixth in the 3200, and Chris Fulton posted 11.02 in prelims of the 100.
