Nashville School Bomb Threat Prompts Mass Evacuation

More than 4 000 students and spectators at Fisk University evacuated after an anonymous bomb threat halted an address by Martin Luther King Jr. Police and fire units searched the auditorium but found no explosive. The incident followed the Looby murder scene and sparked broader sit-ins and clashes across the South with arrests and court actions.

Coroner's Inquest Delayed To Friday In Fire Death

The coroner's inquest into the death of Mrs Jeanne Young 51 halted mid session and postponed to 4 pm Friday in the District Court room at the Courthouse. Mrs Young was found in the upstairs room of her two story home at 724 RI St after a fire gutted the downstairs and damaged the upstairs.
