Preliminary autopsy results show 24 year old Ryan M. Pittman had marijuana in his system and test positive for benzodiazepine and methadone after his Toyota Camry crossed into opposing lanes and collided with a minivan on Kansas 10 near Eudora. The Kansas Highway Patrol and Douglas County coroner's office continue to investigate the double fatality.
Gov. Sam Brownback signed a Kansas law requiring photo identification to vote, framing it as a guard against election fraud. Critics call it radical and potentially disenfranchising. Secretary Kris Kobach pushed for stronger ID measures, while Brownback vowed no obstacles for lawful citizens.
