St. Lawrence Seaway Opens for 1960 Trade

The St. Lawrence Seaway opened for 1960 business in dull weather. The Lemoyne, a 14,480 ton Canada Steamship Lines freighter, was the first ship through the St Lambert Lock bound for Ashtabula Ohio to pick up coal.

Weather Outlook Northeast Kansas Turns Warmer

The forecast calls for fair and warmer conditions in northeast Kansas with variable high cloudiness. Tonight and Tuesday see southerly winds 20 to 40 mph, lows near 45 to 50, highs in the 70s, and normal minimums from the mid 30s northwest to upper 40s southeast. Precipitation expected as scattered showers and thunderstorms, totaling a quarter to one inch in the west to east regions.
