The Douglas County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p m in the Community Building. A mass feeding class of 50 students will demonstrate meal preparation and service for a hypothetical disaster, with a second session for Civil Defense two days later.

City Planning Actions Tackle Zoning Near Virginia Inn

Planning Commission recommended business zoning for three West Sixth Street lots near the Virginia Inn and deferred a sign rezoning for Town Manor at 611 W Sixth. CAB Blames Pilots For Grand Canyon Crash

The Civil Aeronautics Board attributed the June 30 Grand Canyon collision to pilots failing to spot the other airliner in time. Four planes were in the air four miles up, killing 128 aboard, marking the worst civil air accident on record.
