Channel cats honor April Fool's bite at Cheney Lake
Mechanic Mike Cook recalled a March Cheney Lake outing when 55 degree water drew shad carp and channel cats to the shallows among willow islands. Flushing releases, cooler breeze, and a late day cormorant roost led him to shallow water under willows where he landed several four pound cats.

Kane Family Nets Historic 5 Pound Rainbow at Mary's Lake
On April 1 Richard Kane of Lawrence and his 13 year old Tyson fished Mary's Lake for trout using ultralight gear and Power Bait. Tyson landed a 5 pound 10 ounce rainbow considered the biggest ever caught there as Russ Guenther won the Lawrence Sunflower Bass Masters tournament with Clinton Lake second and Mike McKinney third.

KIDFISH Eyes 500000 Youth Involvement In Texas
KIDFISH, led by Jodie Jackson, aims to reach 500000 children this year through 165 events in 103 Texas cities.
