Dry land farmers in storm scarred plains endure dust
Springfield Colorado and across southeastern Colorado southwestern Kansas and the panhandles endure a sweeping dust storm barrier. Postmaster Herman Davis says about a dozen families moved away temporarily while most plan to return when rain comes. Edna Lynn Texas county Okla social service director notes nearly 100 families left last week but many intend to return once dust subsides and rain returns.

Will Show Holsteins In Large Kansas Exhibit
One of eastern Kansas largest Holstein showings will occur in Olathe on May 1 with about 110 head of pure bred and grade Holsteins in an event sponsored by the Fast Central Kansas Holstein Breeders Association. Plans were set March 28 by officers from Atchison Doniphan Jefferson Douglas Franklin Wyandotte Leavenworth Miami and Johnson counties. A new grading method will allow more than one animal per class to win ribbons. Demonstrations on dairy product use are planned by Miss Mary Elsie Border and Allen McGinness. Grover Meyer is general manager. L B Harden handles publicity. Merton Otto plans judging contests.
