In Lawrence a city wide clean-up proceeded despite disagreeable weather. Volunteers organized by foremen from the council hauled dirt and refuse into wagons, with many yards cleared and alleys inspected. Mayor Bishop announced the effort runs day to day until the town is white washed and urged cash contributions to fund the operation.
The festival features Busoni’s piano on loan from a Kansas City concert and the Minnespolis Orchestra’s extended tour. Advance ticket sales are higher than last year as more people buy extra seats. An account from Kansas City reports Dr. G T Twyman hospitalized with acute diverticulitis after an operation, delaying the Hyde trial. The jury remained sworn in case of Twyman’s death, with the court crowd growing and other legal notices and local church updates woven into the day’s proceedings.

The death of Jack Figgins a well known local pressman marks the passing of a prominent figure in town and newspaper offices.
