Bond bill could bolster development in Kansas cities
A bill advancing to Governor Sebelius would allow STAR bonds in Kansas to fund regional projects worth at least 50 million dollars. Bonds financed by sales tax revenue would repay within 20 years, exclude casinos, and support infrastructure while steering economic growth, with Wichita and Olathe cited as examples.

County eases complaints on new towers with co location plan
Douglas County commissioners approved a policy to allow administrative approval of installing new communications equipment on existing towers outside Lawrence and nearby towns. The move aims to speed upgrades by co locating, reducing red tape, and limiting the need for new towers. Officials cited Lawrence’s eight year policy as a model and discussed a future AT T site on a courthouse tower. A separate proclamation for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week was reviewed, with final wording to be approved, while officials met to discuss Farmland Industries fertilizer plant prospects.
