Brain scans link violence to born tendencies in some killers
Neuroscientists studied 38 murderers using PET imaging to compare brain activity. They found 26 with little or no childhood abuse showed 5.7 percent less activity in the medial prefrontal cortex and 14.2 percent less in the orbitofrontal cortex. Researchers say dysfunction may lie in those with benign early environments.
