Grain elevator cited for serious violations in blast case
The U S government cites Bartlett Grain Co for willful and serious safety violations after the Oct 29 2011 grain dust explosion at the Atchison Kansas elevator that killed six workers and injured two others. OSHA seeks 406000 in penalties. Bartlett Grain and a contractor plan to contest the charges. The case could be referred to the Justice Department for possible criminal action.
