Antlers Oklahoma Donald Sikes used a shotgun to end a dispute with his wife and her family. Sheriff Lawrence Wade said Sikes killed his wife Thelma Sikes 20, her mother Ola Watts 43, and her brother William Tom Watts 17, then committed suicide with a pistol.
Car Truck Collision Near Lawrence on Highway 40
A pickup driven by Arden E Liljedahl 21 of Eudora collided with a car driven by Jesse Johnson 42 of Topeka on U S Highway 40 about 24.7 miles northwest of Lawrence. Damage estimated at 420 dollars. No injuries reported by the Highway Patrol.

Fire Tears Through Lawrence Home Leaving Pets Dead
A big blaze Thursday evening devastated a home southwest of Lawrence. John D. Lohman and family saw their house burn, killing the family pet chee and injuring others. Fire Chief Doby Miller reported the fire started from faulty wiring and the occupants escaped with relatives. The home was declared a total loss with only smoke remaining.

Lawrence Boy Injured In Bicycle Car Accident
Seven year old Lawrence Hemphill son of Mr and Mrs Thornton A Hemphill suffered minor injuries when his bicycle entered the street from behind a parked truck and collided with a car driven by Burton W Marvin. He sustained bruises to the right leg a cut on the forehead and behind the left ear. He was not hospitalized. The sheriff said Marvin was driving about 25 miles an hour.
