Clinton youth bags 27-pound turkey on opening day
13 year old Joey Suitt of Clinton hunted near Clinton after school and returned with a 27 pound turkey. The bird had an 11 inch beard and one inch spurs. His mother drove him to the site and waited in the car while he hunted. In 15 minutes he had the turkey in hand. The Big Bud Walleye Tournament at Waconda Lake Glen Elder was rescheduled to July 18 19. The first Big Bud tourney at Marion Lake Kingsley is set for May 3. Wal Mart FLW bass fishing in Arkansas will air on ESPN April 25 at 11 am. Cecil Kingsley of Lawrence finished fifth and won $20000.

Anglers Find Brief Sand Creek Escape Near Ellsworth County

Record paddlefish scales 134 pounds at Lake of the Ozarks
Calhoun, Missouri angler J C Mantey snagged the largest paddlefish ever caught in Missouri. The six foot four inch fish weighed 134 pounds 12 ounces with a 44 inch girth. Fisheries biologist Cheg Stoner verified the record after scale tests. Paddlefish season runs through April 30 with a daily two fish limit and four in possession.
