Hamilton to miss six to eight weeks with thumb ligament tear
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton will be sidelined for six to eight weeks after tearing a ligament in his left thumb during a Tuesday game against Seattle. He exited after a headfirst slide into first base in the seventh inning and stayed in briefly before Ian Stewart pinch hit in the ninth. The Angels lost 5-3 as the potential tying run remained on base.
