Illnesses revealed among doctors at free exam drive
In San Francisco twenty one cases of serious or potentially serious illness were found among the first 350 doctors undergoing free physicals at the American Academy of General Practice convention. A volunteer staff of 140 nurses and technicians conducted the checks, with up to 15 doctors on duty. The $40,000 lab setup enabled immediate reporting, including several suspicious X rays and a rectal cancer case, glaucoma findings, and liver enlargements.

Wright is survived by his widow and sister Mrs Magnuel Wright Barney of New York. He leaves four sons Lloyd Los Angeles John L Del Mar Calif David Phoenix and Robert L Washington and two daughters Catherine Baxter Menlo Park Calif and Jovana Wright Phoenix. Nine grandchildren include actress Ann Baxter and eight great grandchildren. His first wife died March 24 at Santa Barbara and a daughter Frances died last February in Washington.
