Tiller abortion battle reaches Kansas Supreme Court
The Kansas Supreme Court will hear arguments on whether Dr. George Tiller must provide grand jury records of about 2,000 patients from 2003 to 2008. Anti abortion groups claim violations of late term abortion law while patients seek privacy protections, arguing records are intrusive and noncriminal without findings. The hearing runs from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. and consolidates challenges from the attorney general, Tiller’s clinic, and patients.
