John V. Fritzel 63 of Overbrook died this morning at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a heart attack. Services Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran. Survived by wife Dorothy, a brother Joel G. Fritzel, three sisters and longtime Journal World secretary Dorothy Fritzel. Born August 16 1913 in Lawrence, he was a dairyman and stockman active in local farming since 1951 and a former Lawrence High and Bethany College athlete.

Three Hurt in Two Car Wreck on K 10 Near Douglas- Johnson Line
Dennis Dunavin 28 of Eudora remains in critical condition at Stormont-Vail Hospital after a two car crash on K-10 near the Douglas Johnson line around 11:45 p.m. The other driver David Stinson 21 of Topeka sustained minor injuries at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Passenger Anna Graham 21 of Overland Park suffered a pelvic fracture and is in fair condition. Both cars were demolished.
