Beiru t Lebanese commander Brig Aziz Ahdab ordered a curfew around the private mansion where parliament was to meet to arrange a three six month early term end for President Suleiman Franjieh. Two people convicted of selling magazines without a sales permit were fined 100 dollars and ordered to serve 30 days in jail. Michael Mixon 27 of Kansas City Missouri paid the fine and received probation on the sentence which was stayed. Debra Bell 23 of Newark New Jersey faces the fine and sentence after her arrest last weekend. They claimed ties to the Opportunities Service Co Michigan City Indiana.

Lawrence School District 497 faced a stalemate after two hours of talks on duty day revisions as the Lawrence Education Association presented a 1,365,783 dollar package for 1976-77. The package would boost teacher expenditures by about 29 percent, with salaries proposed at 698,983 dollars and additional costs for benefits planning time and expanded leave.
Lawrence District 497 school board named Paul G. Hull assistant principal at West Junior High as successor to retiring C D Hargadine. Hull 54 of Belle Crest has nine years as a counselor and seven as an assistant principal and will lead a smooth transition. He was chosen from 23 candidates with unanimous board approval and will receive a salary set later this spring.
Lawrence District 497 school board awarded the lowest bidder R W Harmon and Sons a 1976-77 bus service contract at an estimated 157 421 dollars, with routes adjusted to keep student bus rides under 50 minutes to 1 hour. The board cited rising costs and planned further discussion after assessing finances.
