Transient Questioned About Triple Slaying
A transient, Richard Anthony Bunnel of Paris Illinois, was held for questioning by Illinois authorities in the Starved Rock State Park triple slaying inquiry. Town Marshal Denny Thompson said Bunnel, 21, was arrested March 30 for vagrancy and carried a road map tracing a Bloomington Illinois to Flagstaff Arizona route.

Professor Guilty In Death Of Boy
A Rochester University professor, Dr. Charles J. Goebel, was convicted of man slaughter in the death of 6-year-old Michael Sorce after throwing him to the ground. The incident occurred last May when Michael argued with Goebel’s son. a stick pierced the boy’s eye and brain. Goebel faces 7 to 15 years in prison and a $1000 fine. he plans to appeal. Michael’s parents stated that justice has been done.

Space Chief Releases New Picture by Tiros
NASA administrator T. Keith Glennan announced new pictures from the Tiros J weather satellite though one of its two cameras has an inoperative tape recorder since last Saturday. In the first full week, Tiros 1 completed 101 orbits at about 450 miles, transmitting hundreds of pictures to ground stations at Fort Monmouth New Jersey and Kaena Point Hawaii.

Tuesday vote in Lawrence for a 700000 bond was officially approved after canvass. Yes votes totaled 2816 with 2609 no, a 207 vote margin. 5499 voters participated.
