Douglas County man ordered to stand trial on five sex crimes
A 31 year old man was bound for trial on five child sex crime charges after a preliminary hearing. Prosecutors allege he sexually abused a girl and attempted to abuse her sister while the family lived in Lawrence from 2007 to 2009. The defendant is the ex boyfriend of the girls' mother and had lived with them. the alleged abuse occurred while their mother worked.

Local man faces multiple charges in child abuse case
Testimony shows victims alleged abuse in 2010 to relatives and professionals. The man, with a Garden City address at arrest in Finney County, is brought to Douglas County to face five counts including three aggravated indecent liberties and one aggravated criminal sodomy with a child, plus an attempted count. Fort Leavenworth to honor Nepal general
