City Council Passes Hancock Street Paving Ordinance

At an adjourned meeting the council approved paving Hancock street from Indian to Louisiana and Oread avenue from Hancock to Lee, with property owners paying 590 toward Oread. The city will provide a 30 ft roadway and 60 ft street, brick on concrete foundation, plans and bids to be drawn. Third Annual Spring Musicals Opens In FP Hall

The third annual spring musical festival at University opened last night in F A A hall before a large Lawrence audience. Der Freischutz drew praise for its dramatic mix of human and supernatural elements, with solos by Mia. Lyoon, Miss Eline tom, Prof. Liubach, and Bliss Flinton earning extended applause. The university orchestra and chorus received strong commendations, and further performances were announced including an afternoon Innes band recital and an upcoming final concert.

Topeka Kansas April 7. Kansas Supreme Court held the Kansas City livestock exchange a trust and that all cattle mortgages issued through its members are invalid.
